Legislative Update:

Things are moving quickly throughout the cannabis industry and we need your help in making sure this work continues.  Over the course of the next month we need cannabis activists to attend these public meetings to show that there is indeed community support for access to cannabis products and businesses. Below are the locations, dates, and times for public comment where you can let our collective voices be heard!

Next MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH, the City of San Diego will be voting on an actual ordinance to regulate manufacturing, cultivation, and distribution. Wear your green shirt to show solidarity!

We've received word that Dumanis will probably be announcing either later this week or early next week! Please stay tuned for quick action when we get the announcement!

For those who don't know, Dumanis is San Diego's former, prohibitionist District Attorney. She stepped down from office and appointed her predecessor (most likely a woman who will follow in Bonnie's footsteps). By appointing her predecessor, Dumanis likely secured for the "incumbent" to win the next election (please pay attention to 2018 elections!!!). Now, Dumanis plans to run for San Diego County Board of Supervisors in 2018 and wants to announce her candidacy at a press conference in the near future.

We want all activists available to show up at her press conference and let her know we do NOT want her at the County Board of Supervisors. Remember, the County Board of Supes (after losing our most friendly member, Dave Roberts) voted 3-2 to ban cannabis businesses throughout the unincorporated areas of San Diego County. The Board needs more open-minded representatives that will support a common-sense approach to cannabis regulations. JUST SAY NO TO DUMANIS! She has yet to announce the date of her press conference, but, when she does, we need all hands on deck. Please email to stay updated on the whereabouts of the press conference.
